Three soccer players honored in Philadelphia with National Awards

After the outstanding season the Ladies had in 2017, it was only a matter of time before the Awards started coming in. An article we released earlier this month, recapped all the awards at that time. More recently, three players were recognized by the United Soccer Coaches Association in Philadelphia with All-American honors.

"As I reflect on this season; and (Associate Head Coach) Damon and I look back over this awesome experience, I can't help but smile out of excitement and pride of being part of a great team" Head Coach Paul Stenglein said of the honors. "This latest award of All-American honors for three of our student athletes is the punctuation mark on a great season."

Delaney Gravlin

Serving as one of the team captains this year, Delaney was an excellent choice to receive Academic All-American Honors. Serving as one of our defensive leaders, Delaney consistently shows great leadership on and off the field, leading the Pioneers.

Skylar Eckert

Our leading goal scorer from this season, Skylar had the best statistical season in the history of the program, and it's no surprise that she was honored as an All-American. Her success was not limited to on the field however. In addition to on the field success, she did great work in the classroom, doing a great job exemplifying what a student-athlete should look like.

Kalyn Breckenridge

Named NJCAA Keeper of the Week 3 times, Kalyn was the brick wall on the back line that helped keep a lot of outcomes in Delta's favor. Armed with a great defense, it was impossible at times to get on the board against the Pioneers, and even tougher if Eckert and the offense got out to an early lead. Kalyn also did a great job in the classroom and is now a member of our Women's Basketball team here at Delta.

"Damon and I are so proud of them, and they represent what we hope to have in our program year after year," Stenglein went on to say. "We strive to recruit great student athletes that will grow into great students and soccer players.  Congratulations again to these fine young ladies and their accomplishments on and off the field this past fall."
