Game 1: Alpena 12, Delta 2
Alpena struck early and often in Game 1, sending twelve men to the plate in the first five innings and tagging Delta starter Wyatt Armbruster for eleven earned runs on ten hits over 3.1 innings. Three Alpena batsmen cleared the fence—Lane Gross, Kaden Benaske and Brendan DiBartolomeo—while Gross (3 RBI) and Benaske (4 RBI) powered a five‑run third and a four‑run fourth that put the contest well out of reach.
Alpena's offense was keyed by a balanced attack: outfielder Evan Fairbanks went 2‑for‑3 with a pair of doubles and a stolen base, Jared DiBartolomeo added two hits and two RBI, and second baseman Nate Koster chipped in two doubles. Max Coughlin picked up the win on the mound, holding Delta to two runs on four hits with five strikeouts over five innings of work.
Delta College managed lone runs in the first (Layke Hornung's RBI single) and fourth (David Walsh's run‑scoring knock) but could muster just six hits in the game. Armbruster absorbed the loss, issuing two walks, uncorking two wild pitches and being tagged for two homers in addition to the run on Landon Jackson's lone inning of relief.
Game 2: Alpena 6, Delta 3
In game 2, Tyler Smith plated the game's initial run with a sac fly in the opening frame, and Caiden Larkin's two‑out single in the second made it 2–0. But Alpena answered in the bottom of the third with a three‑run barrage capped by Jake Zann's three‑run homer.
Delta got one back in the fifth when Joseph Kowalak drove in a run, but the Alpena added three insurance runs in their half of the inning, highlighted by Brett Moroschan's second‑inning two‑run blast and Zann's first‑inning solo shot. Starter Bryson Luth worked five tough innings, surrendering six runs (five earned) on six hits with nine strikeouts, but Delta's bullpen couldn't keep the deficit from growing.
Alpena closer Kaleb Donajkowski shut the door over the final two innings, and finished the night with a combined six runs on six hits and just one error.
