RECAP: Delta College Baseball went 1-4 to start the season in conference play over the weekend at Sports Force Parks. The Pioneers lost to Mid-Michigan College 3-11 Friday; they fell short to Grand Rapids CC 3-9 on Saturday. They were able to get a win against Bay College 9-5, and took two losses against Muskegon Community College, and fell just short in a walk-off loss to Alpena Community College
Friday, March 20
Game 1: vs. Mid-Michigan Lakers
Ben Mackenzie had a perfect day at the plate, finishing 2-for-2 with a run scored.
Joseph Kowalak reached base every time he stepped up, going 1-for-1 with two walks, a run scored, and a triple. He also led the team with 2 RBIs.
Mitchell Radosa contributed a hit and a run, finishing the game 1-for-2.
Jack Berthiaume & Austin Huyck, both players, picked up a hit, each finishing 1-for-3.
Cameron McIlhargie showed good plate discipline by earning a walk in one of his two plate appearances and recording an RBI.
Isaiah Hoffman provided a bright spot on the mound in relief, pitching one scoreless inning with 2 strikeouts and allowing zero hits.
Game 2: vs. GRCC Raiders
Ben Mackenzie accounted for the majority of the Pioneers' scoring by hitting a home run and finishing with 1 RBI.
Jack Berthiaume led the team in hits, going 2-for-4 with a stolen base.
Ben Misenar contributed an RBI and a hit in his two plate appearances.
Joseph Kowalak reached base with a hit and scored one of Delta's three runs.
The Pioneers recorded four stolen bases in the contest, coming from Berthiaume, Dawson Doan, Mitchell Radosa, and Misenar.
Pitching

Jack Berthiaume was equally efficient, going 2-for-2 with two doubles and 2 RBIs, while also drawing two walks and stealing a base.
Nicholas Naylor contributed significantly with a double and 2 RBIs in his two plate appearances.
Joseph Kowalak finished the day 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI, and a walk.
Ben Mackenzie added to the hit total, finishing 1-for-4 with an RBI.
Mitchell Radosa & Dawson Doan both players reached base with a hit and scored a run during the Pioneers' late-inning rally.
Pitching & Defense
Camden Parker started the game and provided a strong foundation, striking out 4 batters over 4.2 innings of work.
