Men's Basketball falls short to Mid-Michigan 91-98

The Delta College Men's Basketball Team competed throughout the night but came up short in a 98–91 loss to Mid-Michigan College on Wednesday evening. The setback moves the Pioneers to 4–10 overall and 1–2 in conference play.
Delta stayed within reach behind an efficient offensive performance, shooting 54.4 percent from the field. The Pioneers were led by Sir Real Smith, who delivered another standout showing with a game-high 42 points, connecting on 16-of-25 shooting and 5-of-7 from three-point range. Smith also added seven rebounds and four assists, shouldering the offensive load from start to finish.
Mid-Michigan built its advantage through balanced scoring, but Delta answered with strong interior play from Amari Taylor, who posted 12 points and a team-high 14 rebounds. Deontrey Gary contributed 18 points, while Jaylen Carthan directed the offense with a team-high 11 assists, helping keep the Pioneers competitive throughout the contest.
Despite the loss, Delta continued to battle on both ends of the floor, finishing with 36 total rebounds and steady ball movement that resulted in 21 assists. The Pioneers remained within striking distance late but were unable to overcome Mid Michigan's scoring surge down the stretch.
