Delta College Men’s Basketball Falls at Bay College, 84-89
ESCANABA, MI
The Delta College Men's Basketball Team came up short on the road, falling 84–89 to Bay College in conference play.
The game stayed competitive throughout, with both teams trading runs and answering baskets. Delta shot an efficient 48.5% from the field but struggled to keep pace with Bay College's perimeter shooting, as the hosts connected on 50.0% of their shots from 3-point range.
Sir Real Smith led all scorers with a standout performance, pouring in 40 points on 17-of-25 shooting while adding 8 rebounds, 3 steals, and a block. Deontrey Gary followed with 20 points, knocking down 6-of-7 free throws and adding 3 assists. Jimmy McCrum provided a spark off the bench with 7 points and 2 blocks, while Justin Watson chipped in 6 points on 2-of-4 shooting from deep.
Delta battled on the glass, finishing even at 31 rebounds, and forced 12 Bay College turnovers, but timely shots by the home team down the stretch proved to be the difference.
UP NEXT: The Pioneers will look to respond quickly as they return to the road to face Montcalm Community College on Wednesday, Jan. 28, aiming to bounce back and regain momentum in conference play.
