Delta College stayed hot on Saturday afternoon, sweeping another home doubleheader against Bay College by scores of 10–1 and 12–4. The Pioneers have now outscored their opponents 45–5 over their last four games.
Game 1: Delta 10, Bay 1
Behind a no-hit performance from Eliana Rodriguez and a three-hit, three-RBI day from Hannah Hycki, Delta cruised to a dominant five-inning win in the opener.
After Bay pushed across an unearned run in the first, Delta answered with two runs in the bottom half and broke things open with a six-run fourth inning. Hycki led the charge with a 3-for-3 line that included a double, a home run, and three runs scored. Katie Chinavare added a double and drove in two, while Kortney Kotenko chipped in with an RBI single.
Rodriguez was stellar in the circle, tossing five no-hit innings, striking out four and walking just one. She faced 18 batters and allowed only one unearned run.
Game 2: Delta 12, Bay 4
In the nightcap, the Pioneer bats stayed hot as Delta poured in 12 runs on eight hits — capitalizing on six Bay College errors.
Kortney Kotenko and Izabel Lathrom each scored twice, while Jolie Buschlen belted a solo home run to highlight a three-run fourth. Hannah Hycki and Alicia Candelaria both doubled, and Katie Chinavare added a triple to fuel the offensive onslaught.
Cadence Swartz picked up the win, going the distance with five innings of work. She gave up four earned runs on eight hits and struck out five. Despite allowing some damage, she stranded several runners and kept the game comfortably in Delta's control.
