RECAP: Delta College fell 9-2 to the GRCC Raiders in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader. The Pioneers struggled to contain a relentless Raiders offense that racked up 14 hits. Izabel Lathron and Hannah Hycki each managed to drive in a run to keep Delta on the board.

RECAP: 

Delta College fell just short in a 2-1 heartbreaker against the GRCC Raiders. Starter Geena Gauthier put together a heroic performance on the mound, throwing a complete-game 7.0 innings and racking up 7 strikeouts while surrendering only two runs. The Pioneers managed to jump out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning. Despite putting the tying run on base in the final frame, Delta couldn't find the late-inning score they needed to overcome the Raiders' slim lead.

GAME TWO TOP PERFORMERS 

• Geena Gauthier: The undisputed star of the game for Delta, throwing 120 pitches in a complete-game effort and keeping the Raiders off-balance with 7 strikeouts. 

• Hannah Hycki: Led the offense with a 2-for-3 day at the plate, including the team's lone RBI. 

• Grace Zwetzig: Continued his strong day by going 1-for-3 with a stolen base and scoring Delta's only run. 

• Makenna Matzke: Showed great discipline at the plate, drawing a walk and battling through a tough 0-for-2 outing to remain a threat in the lineup.
