The Delta College women's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak with a commanding 11-0 victory over St. Clair County Community College on Saturday, securing its sixth straight shutout. The Pioneers now stand at 7-0-1 overall and 5-0 in the MCCAA, continuing their remarkable run of not conceding a single goal all season.
Delta wasted no time asserting control, with Alahna Beckett scoring in the second minute off an assist from Isabella Workman, who added an unassisted goal just moments later. The Pioneers poured it on from there, as Brooke Swartz and Molly Siler connected twice, pushing the lead to 4-0 within the first 10 minutes. Beckett struck again at the 11th minute and later completed her hat trick with a helper from Maddy Gracias.
Siler added her second of the day in the 39th minute, while Avery Dean chipped in a goal before halftime to make it 8-0. In the second half, Ella Wallaker tallied back-to-back goals, including one off a restart, and Gracias capped the scoring in the 62nd minute.
The Pioneers outshot SC4 28-2 and dominated possession throughout the game. Goalkeeper Mia Warner faced just two shots on goal, turning both aside to secure the clean sheet.
The Pioneers will look to continue their defensive dominance as conference play heats up, with the squad maintaining its streak of not allowing a single goal through eight matches this season.
