Delta College Women's Basketball Falls to Owens CC in a Thursday night matchup 

November 20, 2025 – University Center, MI 

Delta College fought hard at home but came up short Thursday night, falling 88–69 to a tough Owens Community College squad. Despite a strong first half and multiple individual standout efforts, the Pioneers couldn't overcome Owens' second-half surge. 

Delta came out aggressively, matching Owens shot for shot through the first two quarters. The Pioneers trailed just 39–33 at halftime, fueled by active defensive pressure and efficient scoring from the starting group. 

Owens flipped the momentum in the third quarter, outscoring Delta 25–21 and stretching the lead into double digits. The Pioneers battled to stay within reach, but turnovers and timely shooting from Owens sealed the game in the fourth. Some key players for the Pioneers were Makayla Watkins – 16 PTS, 13 REB, 4 AST, 3 STL, Aya Mosley – 14 PTS, 12 REB, 3 AST, and Ellianna Miller – 11 PTS, 4 REB. Many other members of the team were heavy contributors, including Alexis Schlatter: 5 PTS, 3 REB, Malaya Brown: 5 PTS, 4 REB , Damaya Hartwick: 2 PTS, 5 REB, 5 AST, Olivia Nickson: 5 PTS, 2 REB, and Kylee Miller: 2 PTS, 2 REB
