Delta College Basketball Beats North Central Michigan College 82-53

The Delta College Pioneers extended their conference win streak to three games on Saturday, January 17, 2026, with a commanding 82-53 victory over the North Central Michigan College Timberwolves. The Pioneers' relentless defensive pressure proved the deciding factor, forcing 39 turnovers and recording 23 steals in the win.
While the first quarter remained competitive, with Delta holding a slim 27-22 lead, the Pioneers pulled away in the second quarter. Delta's defense held the Timberwolves to 10 points in the period, outscoring them 26-10 to enter halftime with a comfortable 53-32 advantage.
Despite a slight dip in the third quarter, where North Central Michigan outpaced them 16-14, Delta closed the door in the fourth, allowing only 5 points to secure the 29-point rout. A key moment came early in the quarter when Aya Mosley intercepted a pass at the top of the key, racing down the court for a quick layup. Her hustle not only widened Delta's lead but also set the tone for the defensive intensity that dominated the rest of the game.
Delta's balanced offensive attack featured five players in double figures, Aleixs Schlatter, who led all Pioneers with 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting, while adding 5 steals, Makayla Watkins, who nearly notched a double-double with 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 steals. Damaya Hartwick contributed 13 points and orchestrated the offense with a team-high 6 assists. Aya Mosley provided a defensive masterclass with 12 points, 5 steals, and 2 blocks. Ellianna Miller added 10 points and 5 rebounds off the bench.
